REASONS TO VISIT RAJASTHAN!

Rajasthan is a state set in the north-western part of India. This state is known for its art, culture, history, architecture, food and desert mirages. What makes it stand out as a state of India is its sheer amalgamation of modernity and traditionality. Therefore visiting this place is ideal for people from all age groups and backgrounds. Be it a solo trip to the silent roads of Bundi, a friend’s trip to Jaipur, a family vacation to Jaisalmer or a couple’s tour to Udaipur. The state has something to offer to everyone who believes in the idea of infinite experience, endless possibilities and boundless romanticism. So here we put down some of the major reasons to explore Rajasthan, and in that process find yourself!!

EXQUISITE FORTS AND PALACES

Rajasthan has the most forts and palaces of any state in India. The state’s towering forts and stately palaces are testaments to its glorious heritage and shed insight into its royal past. Aside from that, the architectural splendour of these structures is breathtaking. Explore the passageways of the hundred-foot Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, marvel at the magnificent splendour of Amer Fort, and visit the City Palace in Jaipur, the state’s largest. The delicate decorations of the “jharokhas” of Patwon ki Haveli in Jaisalmer might also be admired.

Rajasthan boasts more forts and palaces than any other state in India. The state’s forts and palaces are testaments to its great heritage and provide insight into its royal past. Aside from that, the architectural beauty of these structures is stunning. Explore the passages of Jodhpur’s hundred-foot Mehrangarh Fort, marvel at the breathtaking beauty of Amer Fort, and pay a visit to Jaipur’s City Palace, the state’s largest. The beautiful decorations of Patwon ki Haveli in Jaisalmer’s “jharokhas” may also be admired.

ROYALTY AT ITS PEAK: HERITAGE HOTELS OF RAJASTHAN

Rajasthan has various heritage hotels where visitors can experience the royal lifestyle first-hand while also learning about the state’s princely traditions and culture. Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, commonly known as the “Jewel of Jaipur,” is one such heritage hotel. The Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, carved of golden-yellow sandstone and adorned in grandeur, provides a genuinely exotic experience. No other hotel in Udaipur is as distinctive and fascinating as the Lake Palace. Fort Rajwada in Jaisalmer, Shiv Niwas Palace in Udaipur, and Khimsar Fort in Khimsar are some additional well-known heritage hotels.

CULTURAL FESTIVALS

Rajasthan is one of India’s top cultural cities due to the number of festivals and fairs hosted throughout the year. These are joyous occasions distinguished by vibrant music and dance performances. Turban-tying competitions, camel races, elephant polo, and other vibrant and spectacular shows draw a great number of people. The Ghoomar dance from Udaipur and the Kalbeliya dance from Jaisalmer are two prominent Rajasthani dances that have achieved international acclaim. Kathputli, Bhopa, Chang, Teratali, and other well-known dances Among the most popular fairs in the state are the Marwar Festival, Pushkar Fair, Bikaner Camel Festival, Bundi Festival, and Mewar Fair.

Then there’s Udaipur, with its gleaming lakes like Lake Pichola and wonders like the Taj Lake Palace, in addition to being a shopping paradise. Kota is well-known for its Jagmandir Palace, Kota Barrage, Chambal Gardens, and the delectable “Kota ki Kachori.” Similarly, Jaisalmer provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to camp among the dunes at night.

Rajasthan is unquestionably one of India’s most culturally rich states. The locals wear brilliantly coloured clothes called “angarakha” and “Ghaghara.” The state’s cuisine includes items such as buttermilk, “khud khargosh” (rabbit meat), “dal baati churma,” “gatte ki sabzi,” and others. The main employment of the inhabitants of Rajasthan is farming, and the most extensively farmed crops include wheat, bajra, pulses, and so on. However, like anywhere else, Rajasthan has a modern side that is represented in posh shops, parks, and so on.

SHOPPING

Rajasthan is one of India’s best shopping destinations. This is because shopping in the city is another way to learn about the city’s culture. No city is better than Jaipur for ethnic handlooms, handicrafts, and artefacts. Johari Bazar and Bapu Bazar are two of the best places to visit. Jodhpur is the place to go for everything from antiques to accessories. The greatest possibilities are Clock Tower Market and Nai Sarak. Hathi Pol Bazar in Udaipur, known for its Rajasthani miniature paintings, and Bada Bazar in Jaipur both provide a diverse choice of unusual things. Another wonderful shopping destination is Pushkar’s Sadar Bazar, where one may find products like puppets, leatherwear, textiles, and much more.

CUISINE

Rajasthan’s typical geographical and climatic factors have also affected the nature of its cuisine. The lack of water, paired with the arid climate, has resulted in distinct culinary styles. Dairy products are often used, whereas beans, dried lentils, and legumes such as jowar, bajra, and gramme flour are essential ingredients. Ghee is liberally utilised in all of the recipes. Apart from vegetarian cuisine, non-vegetarian dishes are also popular here. Laal maas, jungle maas, safed maas, and khargosh are examples.

DESERT SAFARIS

Jaisalmer, which also organises the Jaisalmer desert festival, is one of the best sites to enjoy the allure of a desert safari. Camping under the stars, with only the whispering breeze to break the solitude, is a magnificent experience! Participating in the Desert Festival, which is held every year from January to February, is another way to experience the rich and colourful Rajasthani traditional culture. With these personalised packages, you can go on a desert safari in Jaisalmer.

Rajasthan undeniably posits endless reasons to visit it at least once in a lifetime. The reasons mentioned above are just some of them. Moreover, every visitor finds a new reason to keep visiting this beautiful state.
